The E33G formalised what people were already doing on tourist visas in Bali. Requires US$60,000 annual income (about US$5,000/month) from employers or clients entirely outside Indonesia, plus a US$2,000 bank balance. Grants a one-year stay permit. Crucially you may not earn from Indonesian clients — and foreign-source income is not taxed locally provided you don't become a tax resident by staying 183+ days, at which point Indonesian worldwide taxation can apply.
