Notes
One of the first EU nomad schemes and still among the most tax-friendly: income earned remotely from foreign employers or clients is not taxed in Croatia for permit holders. The threshold is fixed by law at 2.5x the previous year's average Croatian net salary and is revised annually — for 2026 that is EUR 3,622.50/month (Narodne novine 3/26), plus 10% of the average net salary for each accompanying family member or partner. You may instead show a lump sum: EUR 43,470 for a 12-month stay or EUR 65,205 for the full 18 months. Income must be evidenced over at least six months. Granted for up to 18 months; if issued for a shorter period you can apply to extend (no later than 60 days before expiry), but once the stay ends a fresh application is only possible 6 months later. The time does NOT count toward permanent residence or citizenship. (Verified against MUP, Aug 2026 — the lower ~EUR 2,540 figure still circulating is a superseded year's threshold.)
